| "Lets
move in bold new directions because of our faith! announced R. Lynn
Bondurant, the chairman of the Partners in Christs Service campaign.
We need to do new things in new ways and lay a great foundation of
committment and ideas for our future. We can use our current churches and congregations as a launching pad to go forth and serve the world. By constantly enhancing and redeveloping our ministries and mission, we not only make the church a great place to go, but a great place to go from. We can decide exactly what we want to do and begin to move the Presbytery in those directions. But,
what is the Presbytery? It is 54 churches stretching over 9 counties in
Northeast Ohio ranging from Ashtabula in the East to Amherst in
the West. It is the community of 16,000 Presbyterians joined in faith
and service. Yet, of the millions of people who live in this area, how many have not been introduced to the gospel story, have not benefitted from warmth of fellowship or have never even sung a hymn? How do the people at one end of the Presbytery help those on the other end? Who helps the congregations struggling to adapt to a community changed by economics or industry, or guides a church family with developing new leadership? We call on our Presbytery in many ways and now we are called as Partners in Christs Service. We are the disciples of the future and the future of our Presbytery can be as exciting as we make it. Lets make it a vibrant, relevant and vital place for our children. Lets explore new directions for the 21st century. As we begin this faith journey, lets get involved and commit our churches and ourselves to make the goals of this mission a reality. The Partnership Campaigns purpose is to reach all people of the Western Reserve and beyond with a message of Gods love. The Presbytery has identified three priorities to carry out Christs mission: Developing churches and leaders |
