Dear Grant Seeker,

Each year, The Presbytery of the Western Reserve disburses grants through its Outreach Committee to organizations seeking to make the world a better place for all people.  We are specifically looking to support projects that address the call in Matthew 25:31-46; offer sustenance to a parched and hungry world, welcome the stranger, clothe those in need, and care for the sick and imprisoned. In addition to the perpetual needs Jesus identified, we are also interested in programs that address the goals of the PC(USA) Matthew 25 Initiative:  empowering groups of people to work together for the purposes of eradicating systemic poverty and/or dismantling structural racism.  If you are unsure if your project fits into our Matthew 25 goals you can visit http://bit.ly/3YelQne for more information.  

If you are interested in applying for a grant, you will want to know this:

• Our geographic area is Northeast Ohio, specifically these counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina. A subset of our grants may go to international projects.

• The majority of our grants are $1,000 to $3,000. 

• You don’t have to be a church or religious organization to apply, but all grant recipients must be a registered 501c3 organization.  

• New projects or established projects hoping to go in a new direction will receive priority consideration.

• If you get a grant, we will check in with you and request a simple written status update and perhaps an in-person (or in-Zoom) report at the end of the grant period.  This information will help us celebrate the good work that you are doing.

• The application deadline is June 6, 2025.  Funds will be disbursed by August, 2025.
