This Child Here, Inc. Other than Dr. Robert Gamble D.Min, Presbyterian Church (USA), all the staff are Ukrainians. They recently celebrated four years since the opening of their Center for Creative Activities in Izmail. Robert writes: Every day, we hear air raids. On some days and nights, drones fly into our city and explode. We are doing something no one else is doing. We don't just give away stuff. We are focused on building a community of 70-80 families, displaced by the war but staying in Ukraine. We gather daily at The Center with programs led by psychologists for mothers, youth and children. With recreation, music, and education, we have built a community of compassion, trust, and support in a city called Izmail. We are funding seven Ukrainian students in high school and University in the USA. In the summer, we take bus loads of families out of Ukraine for a week of summer programs on the Black Sea in Bulgaria. This is our Life Together. In a time of so much war, injustice, and violence in our world, I want people to know that Presbyterians are doing something remarkable in Ukraine.
